DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

Beliefs and Teachings of Our Church

Statement of Faith Because of widespread unbelief and apostasy, this Church reaffirms its faith in the following statements of our faith.

SCRIPTURE

We believe that the Bible was given to us under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:19-21.) We believe that the Bible is inspired, infallible and inerrant. We believe it to be preserved (Ps. 12:6-7) from being lost or destroyed and what we have today is reliable and accurate as compared to the original manuscripts.

We believe the Bible to be our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We use the King James Version for all teaching and preaching.

GOD

The Eternal, Triune God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

CREATION

All that we see and have today in our world and universe is the creation and handiwork of God. God created everything we have today. He spoke the world into being out of nothing. He formed the mountains and the sky. He did this in six literal 24 hour days. On the seventh day, He rested. We do not believe in evolution or theistic evolution. (Genesis 1, Col. 1:13-19, Hebrews 11:3, Rev. 4:20)

SIN

Sin, we believe, is anything external or internal that goes against the nature of God and His Word. We believe that sin came into the world through Satan (Gen. 3). That sin nature was passed on to every human ever born since Adam (Romans 5:12) and because of that sin, the penalty for it, is death (Romans 6:23) We believe man to be born as sinners who are in need of Savior. God had placed man in the Garden of Eden. The devil came and tempted Eve and she disobeyed God. With this act, sin entered into the world. We have death today because of sin. Adam and Eve both received punishment from God because of it. Sin is passed on to every person born. The earth is under the curse of sin and it won’t be removed until we are in heaven. (Gen. 3, Romans 3:23, 5:12, 8:12)

SALVATION

Salvation occurs when one puts his faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned or worked for. It is a gift from God. Jesus Christ came to Earth, lived and died for all mankind. Upon his death, burial and resurrection salvation was made available to anyone who desires it. Salvation cannot be taken away. Since we’ve done nothing to earn, there is nothing we can do to keep it. Once we are saved, we are always saved. The Holy Spirit resides inside, and we are sealed unto the day of redemption. (Eph. 2:8-9, Eph. 4:30, John 14:6, Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10, 13)

VIRGIN BIRTH

Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, Mary. It was prophesied in the New Testament in the book of Isaiah. If Jesus was not virgin-born, then he was born as other men were and inherited a sinful nature from the father.

This reiterates the fact that Jesus was a sinless Savior. We do not worship Mary for this. She did not stay a virgin. After the birth of Christ, the Bible teaches us that Mary had other children. (Isaiah 7:14, Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:21-25)

CHRIST

Because man is a sinner in need of a Savior, God sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for us. We believe that Jesus Christ is God in flesh. He fulfills the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah, He claimed Deity Himself and was recognized by friends and enemies as the Christ. We believe that His death and resurrection has paid for the sins of the world. He is ascended into heaven where He makes intercession for us today. (John 10:30; Phil. 2:9-11; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 7:25)

SECOND COMING

We hold to a pre-tribulation rapture of the saints and a pre-millennial return of Christ. The rapture is the event where Christ takes the redeemed to heaven while those who have not received him stay behind. Those who are saved will not have to go through the tribulation. While we don’t know when this event will occur, we do believe that it will. It will be quick and unexpected. After the tribulation period of 7 years, Jesus Christ will return visible to this earth. He will rule and reign in Israel for 1,000 years. Jesus Christ will judge Satan and throw him into the lake of fire where he will reside forever. (Matt. 24, I Cor. 15:51-58, Rev. 4:1, Genesis 6)

SEPARATION

We believe that we as followers of Christ, ought to live distinct and separated lives from the world. We have been bought and redeemed by Christ and our lives should reflect that. While we don’t enforce rules on people, we desire to have each individual saved person to have that desire to honor Christ with the lives and the choices they make. Our testimony is to be used to point the lost to Christ. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18;)
